Its cold out there

  1. Beautiful home! An RV traveling friend sent me your link. My husband and I are in Maine, working on our fifth wheel tiny home, and hope to travel as well! Our home is pretty much weather tight, and we are ready to begin work on the interior. We hope to be finished in the spring. We are looking at installing a wood stove. If you don’t mind me asking, what stove did you choose? Do you need to remove your chimney before traveling? Wondering about your homes total height and weight? Thank you.

    1. Thank you for the kind words and excited for you. We have had so much fun building it. Our home is regulation 13’6” high, including the solar panels. The chimney has a section on top that we take off and cap when moving. It takes a two minutes. The stove is a Tiny Wood Stove and we chose to add the oven on top. Love it. Great product and company. Let them know we sent you and they will take good care of you.
I would also seriously consider radiant heated floors. Since there is no basement and heat rises, the floors get cold in a tiny. The radiant heated floors are fabulous and make a HUGE difference. WarmlyYours provide a variety of options dependent on your floor type and are super supportive. Again, let them know we sent you and they will take very good care of you.
Weight wise, we don’t have the final yet, so I estimate about 20,000 pounds. We have a lot in there and the teak siding and flooring added significantly to it (about 3,000 lbs including the deck).
So excited for you. Let us know any other questions you have. There are also a lot more pictures on our Instagram feed.
